What will we plant?

Planting a Tree

Pongamia Pinnata

We plant Pongamia because it thrives in poor soils, restores degraded land, and improves soil health through nitrogen fixation. Its deep roots prevent erosion, and its seeds can be used for sustainable biofuel, offering local communities both environmental and economic benefits.

Coffea Arabica

We plant coffee because it thrives in agroforestry systems, supporting both ecological restoration and sustainable income for farmers. Since coffee requires shade, it fits perfectly in forested areas. This integration promotes biodiversity, reduces the need for deforestation, and helps regenerate ecosystems, making coffee an ideal crop for sustainable conservation and economic development.

What is our process?

The Bali Forestry and Environement Agency (DKLH) has officially stated that there are 43,000 hectares of degraded land in Bali. We collaborate by working with communities in the degraded areas to establish nurseries, manage forests, and ensure that the communities receive benefits from the agroforestry approach.

How do we choose our seedlings?

Apart from Coffee and Pongamia, we prioritize native species in the selected areas sourcing local seedlings as much as possible. Our technical itinerary will depend on the area’s conditions, altitude, slope, and water accessibility among other key aspects.

What is our timeline?

As soon as you make your transaction, we will inform you whether your donation is part of a larger project or can be directly used. The timeline will largely depend on the season as well. For instance, conducting rainfall harvesting practices during rainy season or maintenance during dry seasons.
